Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Barnard, age 77 of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Helmwood Healthcare. He was a native of Corbin, KY and a member of First Christian Church. He retired from Elizabethtown City Schools, where he was a teacher and counselor. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, John Marshall Barnard and Pauline Gibbs Barnard and his in-laws, Lloyd and Dolores Pfeiffer. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gayla Pfeiffer Barnard; two children, Allison Barnard Berry (Ryan) of Elizabethtown and Jonathan Ray Barnard (Olivia) of Cecilia; his precious grandchildren, Andie Berry and Nolan Barnard, who were the light of his heart; two brothers, Larry Barnard (Janice) of Glendale and Glenn Barnard of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Anna Jean Chenault (Kenny) of Glendale and Peggy Wyatt (Tye) of Clarksville, TN; a brother-in-law, Mark Pfeiffer; a sister-in-law, Trish Pfeiffer and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be Thursday, March 7, at 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Stuart Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
