Bruce Evans

Bruce Evans went to be with his Lord on February 28, 2024. Bruce was an Elizabethtown native and a 1975 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. He married the love of his life Robyn Seale in 1977. Bruce continued his education receiving degrees from the University of Kentucky, Western Carolina University and Western Kentucky University. His career included Hotel and restaurant management in Kentucky followed by seven years of service with the Christian Organization, Young Life in North Carolina and then 25 years of service as a teacher and counselor with Hardin County Schools. Bruce met his Savior at Bible School in the summer of his twelfth year. Since, he has served Him as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, choir member, and has been a member of mission teams including Eastern Kentucky and Kenya. Most recently, Bruce served as a volunteer mentor at Clarity and as a Decision Guide at Southeast Christian Church. Bruce was the son of the late Wilburn (Wendell) Evans and Wilma June (Peck) Evans. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Robyn Seale Evans, a daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Lohden, a son Jefferson (Holly) Evans and four grandchildren, Evan Lohden, Ashelee Lohden, Trey Evans and Sawyer Evans. Bruce also leaves three brothers: Wendell (Frankie) Evans of Bardstown, Herbert Evans of Okachobee, FL and Jason (Lora) Evans of Simpsonville, two special cousins that were like sisters, Carolyn (Larry) White, and Paula (Dennis) Lafollette and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. The funeral is 2 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Southeast Christian Church in Elizabethtown with Bro. Gary Taylor officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation starts at 10 A.M. at the church and continues until the time of service. Contributions may take the form of donations to Southeast Christian Elizabethtown Campus.
