Floyd Harold Strader, 94 of White Mills, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Boston, KY and loved spending time with grandchildren and was a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church. Harold retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years and served in the Reserves for an additional 9 years. He later retired for a second time with the Kentucky State Highway Road Department. He loved telling stories and enjoyed his cat Patches. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Strader and Dorothy Booker Strader; his step-mother, Catherine Stith Strader and siblings, Gladys Lucas and Ruel Strader. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Stith Strader; five children, Bill Strader (Teresa), David Strader (Robin), Mark Strader (Tiffany), Dwayne Lewis and Gary Lewis (Inge); his siblings, Jimmy Strader, Truman Strader, Milton Strader, Bertha Lee Puckett and Billie Strader; 13 grandchildren, Jeromie Lewis (Melissa), Beth Brockman (Steel), Nicky Langdon (Trey), Emily Strader, Temple Higdon (Dalton), Lola Strader, Maria Strader, Anna Grace Strader, Daniel C. Lewis, Devon W. Lewis (Natalie), Darcy A. Nunn (Josh), Roman Lewis and Amari Lewis and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at 12 noon at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in White Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
