Carolyn W. Lavigne, 84, of Elizabethtown, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. She was a southern Georgia native, growing up in Cook County. She was married to David Lavigne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Grey and Myrtle Johnson Weldon; two brothers, Earl Grey Weldon Jr. and Johnny Dwain Weldon; and an older sister, Wynell Zinger. Survivors include one brother, Tommy Darryl Weldon (Brenda); one sister, Martha Weldon Sutton; a son, David (Valerie) Lavigne of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Phyllis (Steve) Green, of Cecilia; seven grandchildren, David, Amber, Nicholas, Zachary, Elijah, Olivia, and Sophia; and four great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Visitation begins on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and continues until the time of the service. Carolyn will be interred with her husband in a private ceremony at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the COPD Foundation.
