Connie Bagley Skaya, 66 of Rineyville, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her home. She was a native of Columbus, GA, a member of St. John Catholic Church and worked for Burkes Outlet. Connie was a very strong, family-oriented woman, a great mother, wife and grandma. She loved flowers, baking, the beach and taking care of her family. She never met a stranger and brightened up every room. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nettie Bagley; a brother, Roger Vardman; a sister-in-law, Carla Wojtecki and her in-laws, P.J. and Betty Skaya. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Michael Skaya; two children, Kevin (Emily) Skaya of Elizabethtown and Kendra Skaya of Rineyville; one grandchild, Skyler Walrath;E two sisters, Bonnie Gibbons and Marilyn (Chuck) Christian; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continue after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
