William "Billy" Walters, 56 of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was an outdoorsman "a modern-day cowboy" who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved Dale Hollow Lake. He worked at the City of Elizabethtown Gas Department for 10 years. William was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat and Green Bay Packers fan. William was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley A. Walters; and one sister, Terri Hall. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Carley Cissell Walters of Elizabethtown; his father, Jesse (LeeAnn) Walters of Elizabethtown; his children, Jenna Neises (Evan) of Louisville, Ellie Walters of Elizabethtown, and Lane Walters of Elizabethtown; one brother, Rick (Alesa) Walters and one sister, Wendy Walters Bush, both of Elizabethtown; a step-brother Steven Moore (Brianna) of St. Petersburg, FL; a step-sister, Stephanie Moore (Michael Logsdon) of Bardstown; and several nephews and numerous family and friends. The funeral is Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Noel officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. and continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the PKD Foundation.
