Mary Charles Rodgers

Mary Charles Rodgers, 96 of Elizabethtown, formerly of Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was born October 21, 1927, to the late Noble and Magdalene (Maggie) Porter. Mary was a former member of Severns Valley Baptist Church where she served many years as a devoted Sunday school teacher, and she was a charter member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church. Her hobbies included playing card games with her husband and friends, watching UK basketball, and cooking delicious holiday meals for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Joseph Rodgers. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Charlie and Lenora Rodgers, Mike and Donna Rodgers, Dr. Edie Rodgers Jarboe and Larry Jarboe; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Emily and Chris Lee, Dr. Jordan Rodgers and Samantha Smith, Megan Rodgers and Kim Gibson, Janet and Trey Fights, Stephen and Libby Rodgers, T.J. and Andrew Black, Michelle and Kurt Pajel; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Ellie, Simone, Sylvie, Vita, Xavier, Isaac, Mia, Harper, Riley, Charlotte, Andrea, Eric, Dylan, Rhydian, and Luca. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hebron Cemetery in Hebron KY with Rev. Mike Rodgers officiating. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
