Loretta Ann Booker Johnson, age 78 of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful example of a loving wife and mother, dedicated teacher, and devout Christian. She was a long-time member of Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church. In addition to her family and church, she especially loved teaching and kids, her church family, and volunteering at the hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd M. and Kathleen Booker; one grandson, Dylan Johnson; two sisters, Barbara Sue Davis and Janet Knight; and one brother, Lonnie Booker. Loretta is survived by her husband of over 56 years, James R. Johnson; three sons, Todd Johnson (Tammie) and Brent Johnson (Tonya) of Elizabethtown, and Alex Johnson (Taryn) of Louisville; one sister, Kathy Gragson (Elnoah); six grandchildren, Brad, Cory, Ava, Jace, Laiken, and Camryn Johnson; and four great grandchildren, Veronica, Lexington, Chandler, and Kash. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 13, at 1:00 p.m. at the Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Private inurnment will follow at a later time at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
