Denny Parker Smothers of Elizabethtown, KY, son of the late George Smothers and Myrtle Belden Smothers was born September 21, 1945, in Clark County, Indiana. He died on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023. He was 78, 3 months and 4 days old. He was a former Executive Manager of Ponderosa Steakhouse of Elizabethtown and General/Training Manager for Shoney's Restaurant Radcliff. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, William (Billy) Kenneth Smothers, Donald Ray Smothers and Orval Gene Smothers and two sisters, Mabel Marie Wise and Anna Catherine Sandusky. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Ann Smothers; three sons, Doyle Ray Smothers and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Joann Smothers, Randall Lee Smothers and William (Billy) Denny Smothers all of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Raymond Alexander H.P. Smothers, Beverly Ann Smothers, Cassie Renee Doster and Brittany Lynn Johnson all of Elizabethtown and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and Friends are invited to his home for a meal after burial.
