Deloris Mae "Nookie" Reesor Kilburn

Deloris Mae "Nookie" Reesor Kilburn, age 83 of Elizabethtown, passed away at her home on Friday, December 23, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Garnettsville, KY, in Meade County to parents Floyd "Hicks" and Katherine Williams Reesor. Deloris was a proud Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Her unconditional and everlasting love, smiles, and laughter will forever be cherished. It would be wrong to say that Mom lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Mom stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Mom. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight. Our Mom--graceful until God called her home. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, Michael "Mike" Kilburn; one brother, Albert "Sonny" Reesor; two sisters, Margaret Chapman and Sandra Reesor; and a special daughter-in-law, Karen Ruby Herr Kilburn. She is survived by three sons, Michael Kilburn of Kendallville, IN, James (Deborah) Kilburn of Horse Cave, KY, and Timothy (Lana) Kilburn of Cave City, KY; two daughters, Kathy Kilburn of Avilla, IN, and Angela (David) Shartzer of Elizabethtown, KY; and one sister, Doris Moore of Brandenburg, KY. Deloris has eight grandchildren, David, Brandon, Ryan, Megan, Stephanie, Casey, Chelsea, and Sierra Mae; and six great grandchildren, Harley, Landon, Andy, Little Miss Violet, Dakota, and Drake. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, with Rev. William Happy Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and resume on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. until time for the service. Condolences may be expressed online at brownfuneral.com.
