Sharon Adams

Sharon Adams, 85 of Elizabethtown, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, and was reunited with the love of her life Jack Adams, on Saturday December 16, 2023. In her last days she was surrounded by family. She was born in Toledo Ohio in 1938 to parents William and Madelyn Mackley, who preceded her in death. They later moved to Alpena Michigan, where she attended Catholic Central High School. It was there she met the love of her life, Jack. They were married for 62 years before he passed. Their marriage began in 1959, at the start of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Since the Army would not let Jack leave Hawaii to go home for the wedding, she carried her wedding dress in a box on her lap, and flew across the Pacific ocean to him. She then followed him to duty stations to Colorado, Alaska, and finally to Fort Knox/Elizabethtown, where she remained until her death. Sharon made her life's work supporting and uplifting others. She was a teacher and worked with struggling juveniles, and later adults. In her retirement years she focused on those who struggle with alcoholism and drug addiction at Hub City Services. She gave Grace to everyone she met and will always be remembered for giving unconditional love and acceptance. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Rodney Lyons. She is survived by a sister, Prudy Kinsel (Ray) of Lavernia, Texas. She leaves four children, Laura (Stuart) Snyder, Mark (Pam) Adams, Kathie (Tony) Chase and Renee Lyons. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kyla Adams, Seth Adams, Jud Adams, and Andrew Snyder; and three beautiful great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. and going until time for the service at 6. She will be interred beside her late husband, Jack Adams at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff Kentucky. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Clarity Solutions in Elizabethtown. To honor her memory let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with you.
