Margaret Hazel Shartzer Brown, 85 of Elizabethtown, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Hardin County and was a member of Blue Ball Baptist Church. Hazel was a devoted Christian woman who loved her Bible, family, and everyone else. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde "Roy" and Rhoda Shartzer; a brother, Larry Shartzer; four sisters, Mary Ann Willis, Betty Peters, Bonnie Cowherd, and Brenda Ramsey. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Ronald L. Brown of Elizabethtown; one son, Eugene (Tammy) Brown of Hodgenville; two daughters, Linda (Gary) Fair of Elizabethtown and Judy (Terry) Wilson of Cecilia; four brothers, Jesse Shartzer of Upton, Bobby Shartzer of Cecilia, Tommy Shartzer and David Shartzer both of Elizabethtown; four sisters, Sue Dowell of Harned, Ida Duncan of Cecilia, Jeanette Van Name of Vine Grove, and Connie Drake of Vine Grove; four grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Garry Michael, and Joey; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Drew, Kenzie, Tanner, Dylan, Adysen, Braxton, and Everett. The funeral is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28th at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Cornett officiating. Burial follows in Howe Valley Cemetery.
