Gary Wayne Williams, 70, of Glendale, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in his home. Born May 22, 1953 in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber Olen and Edith Wilma Bright Williams, and a brother, Philip Williams. Gary had a Fine Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He was a civil service employee for the United States Army at Fort Knox for 27 years. As an Illustrator/ Arist, he created visual aides for the training of military personnel. He retired in 2003. Post-retirement, he and his wife opened Nolin River Art Studio in Glendale, KY. This is where he spent the next 20 years "dedicated to the notion of pretty good art." He has been an active member of Gilead Baptist Church since 1997. He served there as a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Regina (Powell) Williams; two daughters, Amanda (Garrik) Napier and JaNell (James) Frisby; one son, Andrew (Jessica) Williams; one brother, Danny Williams; and nine grandchildren, Piper, Olive, June, Ruby, Peytie, Oscar, Olen, Lee, and Henry. Visitation will be held at Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale, KY on Saturday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST. Funeral services will also be held at Gilead Baptist Church on Sunday, October 15 at 2 p.m. EST. Burial will follow in Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the "Help Everly Beat Cancer" GoFundMe.
