Helena Hawkins Crady, 96 of Elizabethtown, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan, and also an avid bowler, fisher, and golfer. Helena was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church for 84 years. She joined the church in 1939. Helena went back into the workforce at 75 years old for Elizabethtown Independent Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Crady, Jr; her parents, C. Lee and Lena Hawkins; two sisters, Vivian Arthur and Margaret Burnett; and seven brothers, Harry, Morris, Clarence Jr., Fred, Russell, Carl, and Randall Hawkins. Helena is survived by a son, Steve Crady; a daughter-in-law, Karen Jones Crady; a grandson, Michael (Anna Mattox) Crady; two granddaughters, Alice Rhodes Crady and Margaret Nell Crady; and dozens of nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 and continue until the graveside service. A graveside service will be at 1 P.M. at Hardin Memorial Park with Pastor Ben Martin Officiating.
