Charles Raymond Wilson, 73 of Danville, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Friday, September 29, 2023 at Ephraim-McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was born on January 24, 1950 in Louisville to Garnet McQueen Wilson and Clifford Ray Wilson. He was a 1968 graduate from Elizabethtown High School and received his B.S. degree in business from Murray State University. Upon graduation, Charley started his career at Motors Insurance Corp. as a claims adjuster and later as sales representative and regional auditor. He achieved his childhood dream of owning a car dealership when he purchased Tinsley Motors and it was renamed Wilson Olds Cadillac Subaru in 1983. He sold the dealership and retired in 2000 and pursued his hobbies of hunting and fishing at Kentucky Lake and The Villages, Florida. Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Redmond Wilson; two sons, Bradley (Melissa) Wilson and Jeffrey Wilson and five grandchildren. A Memorial service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Emory Riley officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
