Brenda Kay Ramsey, 66 of Cecilia, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was a native of Hardin County and worked in the cafeteria at Central Hardin High School for 18 years. She was loved by many. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Rhoda Shartzer; a brother, Larry Shartzer; three sisters, Mary Ann Willis, Betty Peters, and Bonnie Cowherd and a nephew, Brad Drake. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Darwin Ramsey; three sons, Nathan (Ashley) Ramsey of Cecilia, Brandon (Ellie) Ramsey of Elizabethtown and Tyler (Michelle) Ramsey of Radcliff; 7 grandchildren, Cody Ramsey, Allie Ramsey, Haylee Ramsey, Landon Ramsey, Rhett Ramsey, Raymond Ramsey and Kolson Ramsey; one bonus grandson, Ray Roberts; five brothers, Jesse Shartzer of Upton, Bobby Shartzer and Paul Cowherd both of Cecilia, Tommy Shartzer and David Shartzer both of Elizabethtown; six sisters, Hazel Brown of Elizabethtown, Sue Dowell of Harned, Ida Duncan and Hollie Shartzer both of Cecilia, Jeanette VanName of Vine Grove, Connie Drake of Vine Grove; 39 nieces and nephews; 120 great nieces and nephews; 10 great-great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Cornett officiating. Burial follows in Blue Ball Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
