Sherman "Junie" Johnson, 73 of Eastview, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at his home of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He retired from Waste Management of 40 years in Louisville. He loved playing softball, beagle hunting, watching and attending games with his children and then his grandchildren. He loved so much going to their games and playing video games with them. He loved to talk to everyone and he helped anyone who needed help. He attended New Hope Community Church and was a Christian. He loved his wife, Diana Richardson Johnson of 53 years and family with all he had. He always made sure they were taken care of and had everything they needed and wanted. He took great pride in being a dad and papaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman L. and Florine Johnson; two brothers, Bobby and Jackie Johnson; one nephew, Scotty Johnson; and his father-in-law, Hubert Richardson. Junie is survived by his wife, Diana Johnson; his children, Jason (Wendy) Johnson and Christopher Johnson; his grandchildren, Chase and Tyler Johnson; sister-in-law's, Violet Johnson and Barbara Johnson; mother-in-law, Betty Jo Richardson; nephews, Shannon and Timmy Johnson; and two nieces, Renee and Leah Johnson. The funeral is 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Bro. Herb Williams officiating. Burial follows in Fairfield Cemetery.
