Susan Judith Pfeiffer Burns, 64 of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at her home. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Susan received her Masters in Fine Arts from Arizona State University and retired from the Hardin County school system where she was a middle school art teacher. She was an accomplished artisan in woodworking. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Melford and Dorothy Emma Blair Pfeiffer and a sister, Anna Jo Winchell. Survivors include her husband, William Kelvin Burns and a brother, Felix Edward (Grace) Pfeiffer of Waterloo, IL. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continue after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
