Bill (W.H.) Taylor, 79 of Elizabethtown, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at his home. He was a native of Glasgow, graduated from Glasgow High School and he took classes at the University of Kentucky for banking and investing. He was the former founder and owner of Heartland Credit and formerly worked for PNC Bank and Kentucky Finance. He was a man of God and was a longtime member, Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Severns Valley Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lee and Mabel Spradlin Taylor and his siblings, Margie Kinney, James Huffman and Linda King. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Donella Taylor; two daughters, Diana (Tee) Hodges of Sonora and Pamela (Coy) Gibson of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, William Lee Bird, Justin Carol Jenkins, William Hunter Martin and Dean Gibson; five great grandchildren, Laelyn, Liam and Londyn Jenkins, and Atley and Presley Martin and granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Jenkins. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Emory Riley and Stanley Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Severns Valley Baptist Church.
