Michael Byron Pirtle, 73 of Cecilia, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Hardin County and helped organize the first fire department in Stephensburg. Mike was a farmer, mechanic, electrician, and a carpenter. He was a lifetime member of Stephensburg Methodist Church. He was the go-to person for anyone's needs and never said no. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron W. Pirtle and Patricia Annette Franklin Pirtle. Survivors include his wife and best friend of 52 years, Vicki Pirtle; two children, Michelle and John Bowen and Mick Pirtle; five grandchildren, Kody and Laura Bowen, PIG and Brandon Ward, Cade and Lane Bowen, and Morgan Pirtle; eight great-grandchildren, Lana, Keylee, Oliver, Will, Lucy, Walker, Leona, and Banner. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Graveside services will be private. Condolences may be expressed online at brownfuneral.com.
