Betty Imogene Bush, age 88, of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Ceclia Baptist Church and retired with over 50 years of service to Hardin County government, including the circuit court clerk, county court clerk, judge executive, and sheriff's offices. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Catherine Richardson. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Bobby G. Bush; daughter, Cathie Thacker (Larry) of Clarkson; son, David Bush (Sharon) of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Melissa Butler (Steven), Tiffany Vertrees (Joey Stewart), Darren Thacker (Tricia), and Dana Wanta (Adam); and seven great grandchildren, Dalton Butler (Megan Redmon), Shelby Butler (Gavin Rodgers), Isabelle Vertrees, Brayden Thacker, Lola Wanta, Lucy Wanta, and Laney Wanta. The funeral is Saturday, August 12, at 12:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Erdie Carter, Jr., and Pastor Donnie Davis officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 10 a.m. on Saturday until service time.
