Tim Thomas

Tim Thomas, 62, of Elizabethtown, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 14, at his home. He was born on July 29, 1960 to Phillip and Barbara Thomas in Hardin County. Raised on a farm, he was the fifth of six children, and graduated from West Hardin High School in 1978. He loved farming and followed in his fathers footsteps, owning his own small farm and becoming a butcher at Jones IGA. He later owned a Toms Snacks dist. and worked at Flint Ink. After retirement, he worked for Hardin County schools and Elizabethtown City schools. He loved working with his hands buying fixer uppers and rentals. He also enjoyed antiques and looking for bargains. Tim was a loving father to Ashley (Chad) McGuffin and papaw to Cayden. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Barbara Thomas and his younger brother, John Michael Thomas. He is survived by his daughters, Ashley (Chad) McGuffin and Jessie (Chris) Claire. Tim was very proud of his grandson, Cayden, and spent as much time with him as he could. He had three sisters, Sherry (Charlie) Phillips, Kathy (Bobby) Bright and Judy (Greg) Skillman; one brother, Rick (Jo Ellen) Thomas; and a sister-in-law, Tish Thomas; all of Elizabethtown.
