Kelly Elizabeth Druen, 39 of Eastview, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 7, 2023. Born in Elizabethtown on June 25, 1984, Kelly was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University. She previously taught in Jefferson County Public Schools. Kelly was a kind, loving light to all who knew her. She will be forever missed from this life. Our memories of love and laughter will carry us through the sorrow of her passing. Kelly was preceded in death by grandparents, Rosemarie Yates, Elizabeth Wells, Glenn and Ethleen Van Meter; and her beloved cousin, Dana Bryant. Survivors include her two children, Conner (Rylee) Gaskins and Taylor Gaskins; her parents, Cheryl and Greg Van Meter and Darrell Druen; two brothers, Phillip Druen and Jordan Van Meter; her grandfather, Ronald Yates; a nephew, Jackson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m. at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Eastview with Pastor David Stephens officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Condolences may be expressed online at brownfuneral.com.
