Carol Elizabeth Taylor, 83 of Elizabethtown, passed away June 26, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. Carol was born in Springfield, IL and was a hostess at O'Charley's in Elizabethtown. She was known for her kindness and generosity, she was loved by all that knew her. Carol had an inner strength that helped her carry her family through the difficult times with grace and humor. She loved supporting her two grandchildren and could always be found cheering from the sidelines. From family game night to bunco with the ladies, she would bring smiles and laughter to everyone present. Carol was a living example to never take life too seriously and to find humor in our own foibles. She was the best mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend anyone could ask for. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Taylor and parents, Reuben and Virginia Schroeder. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (John) Taylor of Elizabethtown; one brother, Keith Schroeder of Springfield, IL; and two grandchildren, Preston Taylor and Ian Taylor. Cremation was chosen by the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hardin County Animal Shelter.
