Vera "Josephine" Hoskinson, 82, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at home. She was born in Breckinridge County on March 31, 1941. She resided in Cecilia most of her life. She enjoyed attending, worshipping, and serving in church. She was a faithful and devoted born again Christian and a member of Constantine Missionary Baptist Church. Over her years she enjoyed taking care of her family, yard sales, quilting, sewing, and doing her crossword puzzles. She was hard working, feisty, and known for her honest opinions. She was one of a kind. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newman Goodman; husband, Owen Hoskinson; parents, Earl and Hazel Whitworth Bennett; two brothers, Otis and Jerry Bennett; one sister, Jaquetta Inell Sheroan; two infant siblings, Walter and Opal; and a grandson, Zackary Wilson. Survivors include three sons, Ricky (Glenda) Goodman, David (Daisy) Goodman, Kevin Goodman, all of Cecilia; one daughter, Sandy (Kevin) Bramlett of Cecilia; three brothers, Joe (Lelia) Bennett of Cecilia, Bobby (Vonnie) Bennett of Custer, Julius (Nita) Bennett of Rockvale, TN; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The funeral is Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Freddie Vertrees and David Reynolds officiating. Burial follows in Howe Valley Cemetery.
