David H. Miller, 88 of Cecilia, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin with his family by his side. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of White Mills Christian Church. He retired from Hardin County Schools after 35 years of teaching. He taught History at Howevalley, Lynnvale, West Hardin High School and Central Hardin High School. He loved to fish, farm, garden and drink coffee at McDonald's with his friends. David was an avid UK fan, lover of history and continued to do things for himself, including climbing on his roof to clean the debree. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Donnie Ree Love Miller; his parents, Emmons and Brady Finch Miller, a brother, Emmons "Junior" Miller, and sister-in-law Liz Miller. Survivors include his two daughters, Karen (Gary) Halk of Elizabethtown and Kelly (Jamie) Goodman of Cecilia; three grandchildren, Ashlie Pitcock, Joshua (Katie) Pitcock and Dillon (Haley) Goodman; three step-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Halk, Leigh Anne (Nick) Sanzotta and Jenna Lynn (Corey) Self and five step-great-grandchildren, Bryce, Josie, Parker, Daniel and Penelope. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Dennis and Bro. Ron Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
