John Carey Greenwell, 59 of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023. He was a native of Hardin County, a 1981 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Design. Carey was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fish, rockhounding, and woodworking. Carey was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Ila Greenwell; one brother, John Kelly Greenwell, and a niece, Amber Greenwell. Survivors include his brothers, Johnny (Dianna) Greenwell and Shane (Ann) Greenwell; a sister, Missy Greenwell and many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
