Viola Thacker, 89 of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin. She was a native of LaGrange, Kentucky and was a member of Round Top Baptist Church. Viola worked as a seamstress for Etown Sportswear for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Thacker; her parents, Milburn J. Dailey and Nellie M. Quire; five brothers, Emmett, Johnnie, Selbert, Reid, and Chester Dailey; and one sister, Geneva Payton. Survivors include one son, Larry Ray (Cathie) Thacker of Clarkson; two daughters, Linda Darlene Fred of Elizabethtown and Frances Gail (Robert) Gottshall of Cecilia; five grandchildren, Dana (Adam) Wanta, Darren (Tricia) Thacker, Lindsey Hanna, Shannon LaRotta, and Ross Gottshall and four great-grandchildren; Lola Wanta, Lucy, Laney, and Brayden Thacker. The funeral is Monday, April 17, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Scott Akin and Allen Dailey officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens, Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations can be made to Round Top Baptist Church.
