Doris Jean Cundiff Shelton, 89 of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Vitality Assisted Living. She was a native of Hardin County and an active member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and Lincoln Trail Homemakers. Jean worked at Showers & Hays where she met her husband, Charlie. She loved to shop and taught remedial reading at Lincoln Trail Elementary School. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Shelton; her parents, William S. and Mary Elizabeth Cundiff and three sisters, Hazel Payton, Margaret Harris and her twin, Jane Boyd. Survivors include two daughters, Natalie Tefft (Don) and Jackie Ryan (Tim) all of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Kellie Stark (Jeff), Kelsi Creamer (Cody) and Trey Tefft (Alison); great-grandchildren, Bexton and Gentrie and special friends, Dawn Riser, Isabella Skipworth and Melanie Weaver. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Faron Knopp officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continue from 10 to 1 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home.
