Jean Schultz Houston, 81 of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin. She was a native of Bedford, IN and was the owner of Houston's Builders. She was an avid U of L fan, loved building jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Shelby Houston; a great-granddaughter, Avery Rae Harned; her parents, Matthew August and Vestal Blackwell Schultz; a brother, Joseph Schultz; a sister, Judith Vetter and brothers-in-law, David Williams and Phil Stafford. Survivors include two daughters, Shelby (Nathan) Bilbrey of Elizabethtown and Teresa (Barry) Shumate of Upton; one son, William Matt Houston of Louisville; two sisters, Janie Williams of Lexington and Ellen Stafford of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Amy (Nate) McClure, Teri (Andrew) Thomas, Crystal Bilbrey and Benjamin Bilbrey; two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Thomas and Clayton Thomas. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
