Margaret Elizabeth Cecil, 89 of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin. She was a native of Springfield, KY, a member of St. James Catholic Church and worked as a bank teller for the Bank of New Haven for 40 years. She loved reading and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Cecil Sr.; her parents, Joseph Dominic McConnell and Corinne Medley Simms; one grandson, David Allen Johnson, Jr.; and her siblings, Joe Bill McConnell, Tom McConnell, Mary Julia Hayden, and Barbara "Bobbie" Simms. Survivors include her son, Harold F. "Hal" Cecil, Jr. (Jeanie) of Florida; her daughter, Barbara J. Johnson (David) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Harold "Trey" Cecil III (Christy), Travis Kent Cecil (Shasta) and Erin Michelle Disselkamp (Daniel); and seven great-grandchildren, Kensley Elaine Cecil, Kennedy Marie Cecil, Everly Brynn Cecil, Mia Kate Cecil, Brooklyn Elizabeth Disselkamp, Blair Anne Disselkamp, and Bella Grace Disselkamp. The funeral will be Tuesday, April 4th at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Michael Wimsatt officiating. Burial follows in St. Dominic Cemetery in Springfield, KY. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home.
