Shirley Laverne "Honey" Rager, 88 of Elizabethtown, died Monday, March 27, 2023 at Baptist Health Louisville. She was a native of Christian County and a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church and the DAV #3 Auxiliary. She was a Kentucky Colonel. Honey was preceded in death by her grandson, Stephen Michael Rager; her parents, Nash and Ella Johnson and a half sister, Rachel Boyd. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lawrence Estil Rager; two sons, Norris Johnson of Greenville and Ricky Rager of Elizabethtown, and friend, Theresa; one half sister, Patsy Naylor of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren, Norris Wayne Johnson, Cheryl Johnson, Angie Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Jeremy Johnson; 11 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday, April 10th at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Dilbeck and Rev. Elmer Varnadore officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 10th at the funeral home.
