Helen Gladys Phillips, 85 of Elizabethtown, went to glory on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 with loving daughter by her side. She was a native of Hardin County and a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Phillips, Jr.; a son-in-law, Dan Jones; parents, Lawrence and Ophelia Lewis; brothers, George and Rosalin Bowman and Eugene Lewis; sisters-in-law, Carrie Richardson and Martha Johnson and brother-in-law, James Harvey. Survivors include a son, James (Debra) Phillips of NE; a daughter, Joann Jones of NC; two grandchildren, Samara (Dehn) Eisele and Veronica (Ryan) Shaneyfelt; two great-grandchildren, Melese and Maren Eisele; a sister, Louise Hayes; 2 sisters-in-law, Sarah (Don) Compton and Betty Ann (Allen) Phillips; one niece, Brenda (Howard) Benford and a nephew, William (Mae) Hayes and a host of cousins and friends. And a special thank you to Pastor Geraldine Thompson of New Beginnings Christian Faith Center in NC, Rev. Roderick Jones, and First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Roderick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
