Kenneth Anthony Jones

Kenneth "Kenny" Anthony Jones, 60, of Elizabethtown, passed away Monday evening, September 12, 2022, at University of Louisville Hospital, surrounded by his family. Kenny is best remembered as a dear and loving husband, devoted father to his two amazing daughters, and loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew and loved him. Kenny was a 1980 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and a 1984 graduate of the University of Kentucky. Elizabethtown has been his lifelong home. Kenny was a dual member of St. James Catholic Church and St. Ambrose Catholic Church, a Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #1455 and 4th Degree Monsignor McGee Assembly Knights of Columbus, a multi-instrument bluegrass musician, a claims adjuster with Kentucky Farm Bureau, a Principal Auctioneer with Lewis Auction Company, and a retired District Supervisor for Kentucky Department of Corrections - Probation and Parole. He was happiest when spending time with family and friends, watching baseball, spending time outdoors working on his lawn and garden, and "picking" with friends at regional bluegrass festivals, shows, and gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bernadette House Jones, his infant sister, Diane Jones, and grandparents Allie and Isabelle McDaniels Jones and James and Mary Heinzen House, and his faithful canine buddy, Wrigley. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Michelle Nowlin Jones, and their two daughters, Haley Jones of Chicago and Riley Jones of Elizabethtown/Nashville, siblings Beverly (Thomas) Kidd of Lexington, T. Michael (Carol) Jones of Elizabethtown, Linda (Michael) Furlong of Marietta, GA, Bonnie (Terry) Patterson of Elizabethtown, his sister "in-law" Sonja Nowlin of Nashville, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Kenny was one of a kind. He was the embodiment of consistency, loyalty, humility, strength, and optimism, and everyone was entertained by his witty sense of humor. Kenny was a dear and cherished friend and colleague to all who knew and loved him. We will continue to carry the memories and his love with us. Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Thursday 6-8pm, Friday 2-8pm, and Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church at 10 am with Father Benedict Brown presiding.
