Mary Edith Borders, 87 of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was a native of Crawford County, Indiana and was a cook at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She used to be a Sunday School teacher and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She loved sewing, cooking, and was a very kind, generous, and neighborly person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audie J. Borders; her parents, Archie Everett Knight and Amanda Blanche Foster; her siblings, Sam Knight, Pete Knight, Johnny Knight, Ruby Atkins, and Shirley Sloan; and a grandson, Adam Clayton Bucholz. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Sue (David) Kleinschmidt of Louisville, Marian Lynn Allison of Radcliff, Patricia Ann Tierney of CO, Jesse F. Borders of CO, Nancy Renee (Will) Gordon of FL, and Crystal Joy (Ray) Borders of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. The funeral is Tuesday, June 14th at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Pastor Ed Clutinger officiating. Burial follows at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
