Virginia Mingus

Virginia Mingus, 94, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at her residence. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was born in Four Corners, KY on February 12, 1928 to Mac Lewis Cain and Mattie (Yates) Cain. She lived in Hardin County, Ky her entire life. She graduated from Howevalley High School in 1945. She was a homemaker and was an active member of Severn's Valley Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Eastern Star. She was married to the love of her life, Gordon Mingus on May 15, 1947. He preceded her in death April 23, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Argus Cain, Clarence Cain, and Walter Cain; and three sisters, Lucille Chaffin, Ida Lillian Raine, Hazel Davidson. She is survived by three children, Margaret (Ken) Mulhall, Gordon Mitchell (Cherie) Mingus and Jean Mingus; four grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Mulhall, Bethany (Trent) Cook, Michael (Lindsey) Mingus and Cherise Mingus; five great-grandchildren, Rowan, Greyson, Logan, Cora and Ailee Jean. The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Emory Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and continues after 9 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus Health.
