George "Bruce" Thompson, 72, passed away March 1, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a resident of Elizabethtown, KY, but grew up in Rineyville, KY, and was a 1967 graduate of North Hardin High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in USAF as a security policeman. He retired from Civil Service at Fort Knox working in DIO Supply. He was the owner of Thompson Real Estate for 15 years. He was always an early riser, worked several jobs at one time, and was a dedicated and hard worker with anything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hester Thompson; eight siblings, Paul Thompson, Dick Thompson, J.O. Thompson, Dean Thompson, Rita Ann Roelle, Sue Buckles, Mable Smith, and Gayle Siegel. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Burnett Thompson; daughter, Megan Bonner and her husband, Rob, of Memphis, TN; brother, David Thompson of Elizabethtown, KY; several nieces and nephews to include Tooter Thompson of Rineyville. Visitation will be at Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 9-11 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Glenn Chasteen officiating.
