Jo Ann Potter Skees, 78, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin from complications of Covid. Jo Ann was born October 29, 1942 and dedicated her life to helping others in their recovery from addictions at North Central Comprehensive Care Center, Volunteers of America, Communicare of Elizabethtown. She was currently the Supervisor of Clinical Services at Hub City Services in Elizabethtown, where the owners and her co-workers were a much loved part of her family. Jo Ann was a member of St. James Catholic Church & a proud fan of Big Blue Nation. She leaves behind her husband, James B. Skees of Elizabethtown, Kentucky along with his loving family of two sisters, a brother; 11 nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews; two daughters; Virginia (Ginny) Sutton Powell and Debra Sutton Burke; and her son-in-laws, Gary Powell and Steven Burke all of Louisville Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Patrick Potter and Mary Elizabeth Barnes Potter; a brother, Patrick Henry Potter; her first husband, Virgil L Sutton; and second husband, John Austin Mattingly.
