Marion David Cowherd

Marion David Cowherd, 73, of Cecilia, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at his home. He was a native of Memphis, TN, was a member of Blue Ball Baptist Church, and retired from Sears. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, was president of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1051 in Elizabethtown, past treasurer of Region 3 State Vietnam Veterans, and was one of the founding members of Veterans Tribute Group. He was a past board member and treasurer of Warm Blessings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Simeon and Zana James Hatcher Cowherd; brothers-in-law, Bill Howey and Ronnie Lively; and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Cowherd and Andrea Hornback. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Patricia Martin Cowherd; daughter, Becky Swift of Texas; step-son, Darryl (Dee) Scott of Hardin County; two brothers, James Cowherd and Paul Cowherd both of Cecilia; sister, Neda Howey Lively of Elizabethtown; sister-in-law, Shelia (John) Cole; and four grandchildren The funeral is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Vaughan officiating. Due to current state mandates the funeral will be for immediate family only. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
