Margaret Jean Ryan Dudgeon, 76 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her home. She was a native of Paris, Kentucky, a member of the Democratic Women's Club and an active member of St. James Catholic Church where she was involved in the Forever Young Club. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelors and masters degree and was a retired German professor from Elizabethtown Community College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Douglas Dudgeon; parents, John T. and Lillian Fredrickson Ryan; and sister, Jodie Ryan Brothers. She is survived by her son, Dr. Matthew Ryan Dudgeon (Elissa Meites) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Amy Elizabeth Dudgeon Womack (Andrew Dean Womack) of Sheffield, England; brother, James Ryan of Germantown, Maryland; two grandchildren, Matthew Grady Dudgeon and Darwin Marie Dudgeon; two step grandchildren, Ellie Womack and Joshua Womack; and two nieces, Terre Brothers and Julie Brothers Speaks. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
