Dewey Stillwell, 73 of Stephensburg, died Friday, September 7, 2018 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center at Norton Hospital. He was a native of Hardin county and a retired foreman of P&L Railroad. He was a member of Stephensburg Missionary Baptist Church and Big Clifty Masonic Lodge #559 F&AM. He was the past president of the Board of Directors of Stephensburg Fire Dept. and the owner of Stillwell Transport where he moved mobile homes. He helped in the Stephensburg Community Board and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Howard Stillwell and Crittie Shartzer Stillwell and a brother, Howard Stillwell. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy Bradley Stillwell; one son, Dewey "DJ" (Debbie) Stillwell of Cecilia; three daughters, Wendy (Brian) Erickson of Elizabethtown, Angela (Steve) Murphy of Eastview, and Velvett (Jeff) Miller of Custer; two bothers, Andre Stillwell of Leitchfield and Mark Stillwell of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, Shahaley, Ashley, Ethan, Colton, Brittany, Branden, Shelby, and J.D; eight step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Chris McGuffin and Brother Ronnie Blair officiating. Burial follows in Big Clifty Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continues at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a masonic service at 6 p.m. Sunday. A special thanks to Hosparus Inpatient Care Unit.
