Joseph Lee Pennington

Joseph Lee Pennington, 18 of Hodgenville, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints and was a 2018 graduate of Larue County High School. He was driven to help others from an early age. He knew at 6 years old he wanted to be an organ donor and four people were the recipients of his organs. He was extremely brilliant and was a pre med student at Murray State University. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sudie Miller. He is survived by his father and step mother, Richard Lee and Kia Pennington of Radcliff; his mother, Angela Michelle Pennington of LaGrange; three brothers, Jacob Warren, Samuel Pennington and Jonathan Pennington all of Hodgenville; one sister, Scarlet Pennington of Hodgenville; grandparents, Mary and Michael Seeloff of Hodgenville, Dean Miller of Caneyville; his great grandmother, Naomia Parker of Hodgenville and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral will be Friday at 12 noon at Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints with Bishop Joel Shoef officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 to 12 p.m. Friday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Joseph Pennington Memorial Pre Med Scholarship at Murray State University.
