Bobby Eugene Atteberry

Bobby Eugene Atteberry, 78, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was the owner and operator of Atteberry Excavating and formerly worked for Crucible Steel. He was a member of Bethesda Ministries, and the Thursday night bowling league team, the Bulldozers, at Dix-E-town Lanes. He loved bass fishing, horseshoes, and bowling. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and loved all his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Lee and Hazel Dailey Atteberry; brother, Frank Atteberry; and sister, Lillian Page. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Meyers Atteberry; two children,Renate (Douglas) Spainhower and Travis Atteberry; brother, Henry Donald (Madeline) Atteberry; two sisters, Grace Braddock and Mary Lou (Tom) Wilson; and three grandchildren, Makayla, Chancellor, and Christian Spainhower all of Elizabethtown. The funeral is Wednesday at 12 noon at Bethesda Ministries with Rev. Jerry Westerfield officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and continues from 10 to 12 noon Wednesday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to Bethesda Ministries.
