Ralph Aldon Morris

Ralph Aldon Morris, 89 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born May 16, 1928 in Breckinridge County to Herbert and Eudoxia Ruth Marr Morris. He graduated from Howevalley High School, attended Berea College and graduated from Western Kentucky University. He attended Citadel Military Academy, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he was active in the outreach ministry. He was a teacher for one year at Lincoln Trail Elementary School and retired from the Social Security Administration. He was a very compassionate person, and did a lot through the church with the shut-ins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Loetta Gray Morris; two sons, Herbert Williams Morris (Debbie) of Upton and David Michael Morris (Yolanda) of Mocksville, NC; one daughter, Ellen Renee Gorbea (Dale) of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Kenneth Morris (Juanita) of Cecilia; brother-in-law, Dalphon Thompson of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Christian Petty, Brandi Graham (Samson), Brandon Morris, Clancy Morris, Sennet Morris and Mabyn Morris and four great grandchildren, Aspen Graham, Arli Graham, Kathryn Petty, and Skylar Adams. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Constantine United Methodist Church Cemetery in Breckinridge County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
