Michael G. Clymer, 70 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Horse Cave, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church and formerly was the Building Inspector for the City of Elizabethtown. He was an avid UK fan and loved fishing and woodworking and was a great husband, father and Paw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hartwell Preston and Louise Forbis Clymer and three sisters, Gloria Twyman, Georgia Carroll and Medodye Burd Nunn. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Pottinger Clymer; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jerry Carter; grandson, Brandon Carter; brother, Hartwell "Sonny" Clymer, Jr.; brother-in-law, David (Jenny) Pottinger; an aunt, Clara Hogue and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 12 noon at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Emory Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Hammonsville Cemetery in Hart County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and continue after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
