Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Allen, 91, of Vine Grove, formerly of Elizabethtown, went to be with her Lord and Savior October 23, 2017. She was a native of Willow City, North Dakota, and a member of Longview United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hardin County Homemakers, Longview United Methodist Women, Longview Homemakers, and United Homemakers. She retired after 32 years as a budget analyst for the Fort Knox Civil Service and she was formerly employed at the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Century 21 and was an officer at AARP. She was also a book buddy at the Hardin County Public Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Riley Allen; parents, Joseph S. and Lillian Sherwin Daly; three brothers, Willard, Robert, and Sidney Daly; and son-in-law, Ron Thompson. She is survived by her son, Joseph R. Allen (Shirley) of Rineyville; daughter, Julie Thompson of Vine Grove; two brothers, Burton Daly and Ray Daly both of North Dakota; granddaughter, Debbie Bussey-Roberts (Tim) of Vine Grove; great grandson, James Bussey of Vine Grove; and many other relatives and dear friends. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Yosvany Pereira officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and continues after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Longview United Methodist Church, 4320 S.
