Carrol Eugene "Marty" Mardis

Carrol Eugene "Marty" Mardis, 96, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Kensington Center. He was a native of Bracken County, KY, served in the Untied States Army during World War II, and worked for Hardin Motors and retired from Herb Jones Chevrolet. He was a member of Morrison Lodge for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Velma Johnson Mardis. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosalene Shipp Mardis; daughter, LaDonna (Bobby) Catlett of Elizabethtown; sister, Brenda Mardis of Baltimore; granddaughter, Candace Sherrard; four great grandchildren, DaLonza "D", LaTasia, Kam, and Khia; three cousins, James (Mary) Mardis, Carolyn Cheek, and Clay Mardis; and two sisters-in-law, Jewell (Teddy) Blair and Wilma (Darrel) Blair. There will be a private graveside service. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Christmas Angel Program.
