Stephen Ovie Sanders, 92 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hart County, served in the United States Army, and retired from the City of Elizabethtown after 37 years with public works. He also loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etta Grimes; parents, Stephen Oscar and Bertha Lee Smith Sanders; and twelve brothers and sisters. He is survived by three daughters, Nellie (Stan) Farler of Auxier, Kentucky, Brenda (Kenneth) Miller, and Linda Sanders both of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Kenny Jr., LeAnn, Trell, Eric, and Aaron; eight great grandchildren, Taylor, Lexi, Katie, Keadon, Emily, Hailey, Kyle, and Rose; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Raleigh Bostic officiating. Burial follows at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
