Dorothy Juanita Floyd

Dorothy Juanita Floyd, 77 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, February 26, 2017 at her home. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Sonora since 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband, Georgie Floyd; her parents, Nova and Annie Butler Hornback; a grandson, Alan Wayne Hazelip; a sister, Birdie Mae Jenkins and three brothers, Royce Hornback, Elmer Hornback and Noah Hornback. She is survived by two sons, Rodney Bruce Floyd of Sonora and Gary Wayne (Mary Jo) of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Carol Lynette (Gary) Howard and Shelia Kay (Alan) Hazelip all of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Russell (Mable) Hornback, Norman Hornback and Johnny Hornback all of Sonora; three sisters, LaVerne (Rupert) Carby of Glendale, Darlene Floyd of Clarkson and Deloris (Bill) Crane of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Curtis, Ranita, Dean, Joey, Kayla, Morgan and Cody and four great grandchildren, Hailie, Katelyn, Carter and Cason; and lots of family and many friends. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
