Thelma Beeler Hartlage

Thelma Beeler Hartlage, 98, passed away at her home in Elizabethtown, KY on Febraury 11, 2017. She was the granddaughter of William Essex, co-founder of Jenkins and Essex. In later life, she loved to paint, read, work the hardest crossword puzzles and spend time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Hartlage, two sisters, Eugenia and Cornelia and a brother, Gilbert. She is survived by two sisters, JoAnne Galloway and Norma Beeler; two sons and two daughters, James V. Hartlage, Jr. (Jacque), William T. Hartlage, Nelia E. Roush (Bob) and Jill A. Hardee (Gary). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Heidi Patterson, Jud Hartlage, Josh Hartlage, Forrest Roush, Pete Roush, Michelle Guitterez, Jennifer Hartlage, Erica Hardee, Apryl Hardee, Alana Hardee and Skylar Hardee and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church followed with a Mass in celebration of her life at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery.
